Product Name | CheKine™ Micro Toal Glutathione (T-GSH) Assay Kit |
Catalogue No | KTB1670 |
Applications Notes | GSSG is reduced to GSH using Glutathione Reductase (GR). GSH reacts with 5,5′-dithiobis-bis-(2-nitrobenoicacid) to form 2-nitrobenoicacid which has a characteristic absorption peak at 412 nm, the content of total glutathione is determined then. It can test samples of tissues, bacteria, fungus, cells, serums, ect. |
Kit components | • Extraction Buffer
• Assay Buffer • GR • GR Cofactor • Chromogen • Standard |
Alternative Name | Toal Glutathione; T-GSH; t-GSH |
Features & Benefits | • Determination of the content of total glutathione in a variety of biological samples such as tissues, bacteria, fungus, cells, serums, ect.
• Detailed sample preparation and result calculation methods are provided. • Simple operation steps. • Standard and standard curve line are provided. |
Storage | Storage at -20°C and Keep from light immediately upon receipt. Kit has a storage time of 12 months from receipt. Refer to list of materials supplied for storage conditions of individual components. |

Background | Glutathione is a tripeptide consisting of glutamate, cysteine and glycine. Glutathione contains sulfhydryl groups and has antioxidant and integrated detoxification effects. Glutathione has reduced form (GSH) or oxidized form (GSSG), reduced glutathione predominates in physiological conditions. Glutathione reductase catalyzes the alternations between the two forms. GSH/GSSG is one of the most important redox pairs in cells. Therefore, the determination of GSH and GSSG content and GSH/GSSG ratio in cells can well reflect the redox state of cells and is also one of the main indicators of the glutathione redox cycle. |
