Product Name | CheKine™ Micro Uric Acid (UA) Assay Kit |
Catalogue No | KTB1510 |
Applications Notes | The kit provides a simple method for detecting Uric Acid (UA) concentration in a variety of biological samples such as animal tissues, serum, urine and other biological fluids. In the assay, Uricase can catalyze UA to produce allantoin, CO2 and H2O2; H2O2 oxidizes Fe2+ in potassium ferrocyanide to produce Fe3+; Fe3+ further condenses with phenol and 4-aminoantipyrine to form red quinone compounds which has a characteristic absorption peak at 505 nm. The UA content can be calculated by measuring the light absorption at this wavelength. |
Kit components | • Extraction Buffer

Background | Uric Acid (UA) is the main metabolite of birds and reptiles. The main product in normal human urine is urea with a small amount of uric acid. In addition, UA is also an important antioxidant, which can scavenge superoxide and hydroxyl radicals. The imbalance of UA production and excretion in the body can lead to the occurrence of many diseases. For example, an increase in blood UA can cause gout, renal damage and arteriosclerosis, while a decrease in UA can cause pernicious anemia, which is of great significance in clinical diagnosis. |
