Assay Principle
Plant phenols have the effects of scavenging free radicals, anti-oxidation and anti-aging, and have high nutritional valueandmedical and health care effects. The principle is that under alkalineconditions,phenolic substances reduce tungsten molybdenum acid to produce a blue compound with a characteristic absorptionpeakat 760nm. The total phenol content of the sample can be obtained by measuring the absorbance at 760 nm.

Applications Notes | The kit provides a simple method for detecting the flavonoid content in plant tissues. In the alkaline nitrite solution, the flavonoids and aluminum ions in the plant samples form a red complex with a characteristic absorption peak at 502 nm. The flavonoid content of the sample can be calculated by measuring the absorbance of the sample extract at 502 nm. |
